Dear Friends,
This Easter, I keep coming back to Mary Magdalene. For so long, people have misunderstood her or tried to turn her story into a warning rather than a celebration. But when I read the story, I see her courage and her devotion shining through. She was the first to find the empty tomb, the first to hear the angel’s words, the first to see Jesus alive again. And Jesus, the Good Shepherd, spoke her name. He saw her.
Mary’s story reminds me that each of us is seen and known, even when we feel overlooked. We are trusted with good news, just like she was. In her, I see hope that refuses to give up, love that changes everything, and the quiet strength that Easter brings.
If you are missing someone this Easter or remembering someone you love, I hope the promise of resurrection feels close to you. Even in our sorrow, Christ is near. He walks with us, quietly, bringing hope and a gentle presence that holds us up.
May your heart find joy this Easter. And may the days ahead be gentle and kind.
With Easter blessings,
Rev. Gilbert
